From VSA Entertainment for all my friends…
-A
As most of you know, I host a music podcast called ‘Who Cares if You Listen?’. Myself and two other members of the panel released new CDs this season. This is the episode where we discussed my new CD, Gestures.
Take a listen.
So here are all the projects I’m trying to finish at the moment…according to priority:
1) AshbyLane – I’m really excited about AsbyLane, it is a CD of artful pop tunes mostly written by my dear friend, Jim Cowart. Jim and I have been working together off and on since we were 12 years old. This will be our first finished, and mass produced project. My compositional contributions are: a pop song I’ve been trying to finish for a decade, and a progromatic instrumental piece called ‘Who Goes Home’. WGH is based on The Great Divorce by CS Lewis. I am also programming the drums, playing bass, and singing a little on the project…I will probably be doing some mixing and mastering as well. Expected Release date: Sep. ‘09
2) The Damnation Girls – This is a 10 episode motion comic. The first episode will probably be finished in a couple of weeks. However, I won’t release it till the whole thing is done…hopefully, it will be released in late Spring ‘09.
3) Reflections – This is a short film I wrote and shot 2 years ago. The editting has been the hold up…so, though a friend was supposed to do it, it appears I will be on my own. Expected Release Date: Late October ‘09.
4) The State of Basilica – A graphic Novel…I’m trying to fit it into 110 pages, but we’ll see. I Hope to Release it late November ‘09
I want all this finished by June so that I can release something new every few months, but it’s a lot of work. The only thing I have going for me is I’m not doing all this myself (for a change). The Damnation Girls may by Sound Designed by a pair of former AI students (who I deeply respect) Clay Smith, and Johnny LeSak. Also, I hope that Bryan Clak may be scoring the Damnation Girls, leaving me to simply draw it, now that B.C. and I have finished the script.
As for AshbyLane …Jim is doing the heavy lifting as guitarist, songwriter, lead singer, and tracking all his own material. I’m just the rhythm guy, but I’m really excited about Who Goes Home. I can’t wait to let you hear it.
Reflections has already been shot, so I just have to edit and sound design/score it.
The hard part will be The State of Basilica, for which I’m on my third re-write…who knows how it will turn out…Everytime I’ve re-written it, it has changed names: It was once ‘The Nevami’, which really sucked for obvious reasons, then it became ‘Imperium’, which wasn’t bad, but I felt that in that incarnation the story would only be capable of amassing a small cult following. I think this form of the story has more mass appeal, and it takes place in the common ‘wolrd’ of several of my other stories, thus enabling me to tie them together eventually as a write more.
Today is a podcast editing day.
I just finished 4 episodes of the Legion of Lethargic Super Geeks, and 6 episodes of ‘Who Cares if You Listen?’, so hopefully I won’t have to do any more of that for the rest of the month.
I love making podcasts, but I do wish I didn’t have to edit them.
This week’s Legion episode features more DC hate from Chip and Scotty, and next week’s ‘Who Cares’ has actually been split into 3 episodes (20ish minutes each) highlighting the new CD releases from 3 members of the panel.
…through CD Baby. I’ll let ya know when it hits iTunes and Amazon.
This week I finished a script for a TV show (or motion comic?) I’m working on with B.C. Thompson and Nicholas Brendon…Yes, THE Nicholas Brendon (Xander, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer)…been working on this stuff for a while, but trying to keep it low key until some work was finished…but here’s the rest of the story:
Nicky, B.C., and I are working on multiple projects together, and we have started a new production company called 3 Sided Circle Media.
There isn’t a lot more than that I can say right now, but I’ll keep you posted as things mature.
