Justin Rosolino

Justin Rosolino is a singer/songwriter/guitarist I played a few shows with back in 2003 (?). He’s a great guy (very funny), and he’s working on a new recording. I just finished an upright bass track for his new CD, it was a lot of fun. I didn’t get to appear on Justin’s last recording, so I’m happy this worked out (though I recorded in Atlanta, while he was in Nashville).

One of the last shows I played with Justin was ‘the gig from hell’. I may write that story for a future post.

Brad Meltzer

I met Brad Meltzer last night. Not a ‘real’ meeting, he was at a book signing. He signed my copy of The Book of Lies, and The Tornado’s Path.

I gave him a copy of Revisionist History (though I’m certain he had to throw it away…the guy’s on tour. He doesn’t have room for my crap), and I asked him to say something for my podcast; the Legion of Lethargic Super Geeks, (listen below).

Brad is a super smart, super nice guy. It was a pleasure.

Who Cares if You Listen? Update

“Who Cares if You Listen?” is not only a famous article by Milton Babbitt, it is also the title of my first podcast.

I just published my 25th episode of ‘Who Cares…?’, That’s 4 months worth of talking about music (even though doing so is “…like dancing about architecture”)

My next solo recording, Gestures is on track, I need to record a few parts, but the arrangements are done, and I hope to be finished with all of it by the first week of October.

The Damnation Girls is also on track. Volume 1 (a 10 episode motion comic) has a finished script. As far as the first episode is concerned; almost all the images are drawn, and nearly all the vocal acting has been produced. I hope you will see the series by Spring.

Ashbylane, the progressive band Jim Cowart started, is also working on it’s debut recording All the tunes (except my contributions) are written, some of the recording is even finished…still, this project’s expected release date is not till Fall, 2009.

The Legion of Lethargic Super Geeks, my other podcast, is going well, and picking up listeners. it’s 10th episode is coming next week.

Dragon Con 2008 Wrap-Up

So Dragon Con is over, and what an experience!

I sat on 2 panels:

1) The Independent Animator’s Panel 2) The GA Film Maker’s panel…though a mix up caused me not to speak, I was also invited to the sit in on the Screen Writing 101 panel.

Destiny Manifest played twice: 11 AM and 8:45 PM on Saturday

The second time it played to a packed house. It received thunderous applause, and much to my surprise, a few people stood up!

I was honored that so many people seemed so positive about my work, and I look forward to seeing how they feel about my upcoming projects. I have never felt so optimistic about the future.
