Today I finish the course work for my masters degree.
After this, all I have left is a recital, which is scheduled for April 5, 2008.
On another note: My wife, Kim, is on a new recording by the Blair Band…I think it was officially released already, I’m uncertain, but it’s a celtic Christmas project. I heard a little and it seems pretty good!

Friends and students are always asking me what I’m reading/listening to…so I thought I may use this blog space to mention some things I occasionally run into, that you may enjoy.
I’ve been enjoying Word Balloon, a podcast by John Siuntres, a really nice guy, who talks to several comic book, TV, and movie writers (occasionally an artist). His latest episode is a conversation with Geoff Johns (a DC writer who’s current work on Green Lantern has been outstanding…didn’t really dig his run on the Titans, so I’m glad to be able to say nice things about his new work…then again, it’s got to be hard to write the Titans after Marv Wolfman).
I’ve also been listening to a great saxophonist named Iain Ballamy…He is a very experimental kind of guy…his band, Food, is an avant-garde jazz fest. They have an extremely interesting tonal palette.
