Okay, so I’m a little behind schedule creating content for this website…I’m workin’ a new job AND trying to finish my masters degree while trying to stay married….now that I’ve written what I’ve been up to it doesn’t sound like that big a deal…did I mention that I commute from Atlanta to Nashville weekly?
Anyway, I finally finished a tune using the ensemble I’ve been trying to mess with for awhile:
This is track 3 from a trilogy of tunes that will form the main narrative of a story I’m illustrating called “Destiny Manifest” about 4 children who find themselves caught in Corpus Christi on the day the Mexican-American War broke out.
The piece uses ‘the American string quartet’ Violin (played by my wife, Kim), Mandolin, Guitar, and Bass, as well as a flute (graciously performed by Jeff Kirk). There is also some sequenced percussion as well as a few synth sounds I created with convolusion and granular synthesis. Enjoy.
